Different grades are suited for different applications due to their viscosity differences, ranging from low to high viscosity. Their applications have expanded from coatings to adhesives and specialty rubber products. The following are the specific application ranges for each mainstream grade.
Chlorinated rubber SR10 is used as a base raw material for making marine primers, container topcoats, and general industrial anti-corrosion coatings. It can also be used for coating small machinery shells.
Chlorinated rubber SR20 is a general-purpose model. In the coatings industry, it is suitable for formulating anti-corrosion coatings for building exterior walls and coatings for swimming pool interiors. In the adhesives industry, it can be used for simple bonding of wood and rubber pads, bonding of small rubber seals, and is suitable for basic bonding scenarios where the bonding strength requirements are not extreme.
In terms of coatings, it is often used to produce anti-corrosion coatings for large outdoor steel structures such as bridges and docks. In terms of adhesives, it can be used for bonding conveyor belt joints and bonding ordinary sealing strips for automotive doors and windows, taking into account both bonding strength and weather resistance.
Chlorinated rubber SR90/SR130 is suitable for the core bonding of tire carcass and tread in tire manufacturing, and for the firm bonding of large industrial rubber seals to metal skeletons. After bonding, it can resist long-term compression and environmental erosion.
Chlorinated rubber SR170 is often used in the production of specialty adhesives, such as special adhesives for small rubber parts in the aerospace field, or adhesives for waterproof and dustproof rubber sleeves in electronic equipment; it can also be used in the composite processing of high-end rubber products, such as the manufacture of small rubber sealing parts in the military field, which can meet the bonding and protection requirements in harsh environments.
