What is iSuoChem SR grade Chlorinated Rubber?

Chlorinated rubber refers to the chlorinated product of natural rubber.

As the star brand no of iSuoChem, SR grade Chlorinated rubber is a synthetic product derived from natural rubber that has been treated with a mixture of trichloride and tetrachloride, resulting in a chlorine content of 64.5% to 65%. Its general structural formula is [C10H11Cl7]N, and it is commonly known by other names such as chlorinated rubber powder, parlon powder, rubber chlorinated, polyisoprene, and chlorinated natural rubber.

Chlorinated rubber is known for its excellent film-forming properties, adhesion, corrosion resistance, flame retardancy, and insulation properties. When added to coatings and paints, it can improve toughness, adhesion, solvent resistance, acid and alkali resistance, water resistance, salt spray resistance, abrasion resistance, and more. It can also improve the drying rate of the film and reduce dust adhesion.

One of the benefits of chlorinated rubber is its compatibility with alkyd resins that have similar linear low polarity. Alkyd resins that contain over 54% fatty acids have shown to have better compatibility with chlorinated rubber when used in aromatic hydrocarbon diluents.
