What is Polyamide Resin?

Polyamide resin is a kind of micro-molecular polycondensed by vegetable oil unsaturated fatty acid dimer and polyamine. Its molecule contains active group, hydroxyl group and amide. resistance, corrosion resistance, and insulation property, etc. adhesive.

Polyamide Resin is light yellow granular or Curshed solid, it is mainly used in the manufacture of gravure plastic printing inks, paper inks and hot-melt adhesives.
It has good adhesion on polyethylene, polypropylene and other substrates, and is especially suitable for printing on plastic films such as polyethylene packaging film and metal foil composite laminate film.
The ink made of this product has the characteristics of good adhesion, high gloss, low freezing point, solvent release and good compatibility with nitrocellulose.

According to different solvent systems, we currently divide them into three types.

1.Co-Solvent soluble Polyamide resin
It uses benzene alcohol solvents to dissolve the resin. Commonly used toluene and xylene. But please don't misunderstand, The benzene-soluble type does not use benzene solvents alone to dissolve. It is usually used in combination with several solvents, which we call mixed solvents.
2.Alcohol Soluble Polyamide resin
Alcohol-soluble polyamide resin can be dissolved in a single alcohol solvent. It has excellent alcohol solubility and good compatibility with nitrocellulose. It is widely used in printing inks and is suitable for PE. PP. PET aluminum foil and various films (printed polyolefin-PP, HDPE, LDPE) have excellent adhesion.
The ink has good leveling, gloss, and solvent release properties. When combined with nitrocellulose with good heat resistance, it can improve its heat resistance, scratch resistance, and friction resistance; at the same time, it can improve the ink and substrate If you add some waxes, antistatic agents and other auxiliary agents at the same time, you can further improve its printing adaptability.
Secondly, when the alcohol-soluble polyamide resin is used to modify the acetic acid resin, a gel-like substance with high thixotropy and minimal flow can be obtained, which can be used as a binder for high-speed printing inks, and can also be mixed with linseed oil to make a gelatinous oil. Used in offset printing inks. Furthermore, alcohol-soluble polyamide resins with high gloss and adhesion strength can also be used to make varnishes.

3.Ester Soluble
Ester-soluble polyamide resin uses ester solvents as the main solvent, that is, it has a molecular weight similar to that of benzene-soluble polyamide resin, has excellent printability and adhesion, and has the environmentally friendly characteristics of alcohol-soluble polyamide resin, which is suitable for end markets.
