Why do the products that are injected by different injection molding machines have different colors with the same color masterbatch, resin and the same formula?

This is often caused by the injection molding machine. Different injection molding machines have different mechanical conditions due to different manufacturing, use or maintenance conditions, in particular the difference in the degree of proximity between the heating original and the cylinder, so that the state of dispersion of the masterbatch in the cylinder is also different. The phenomenon will occur.

After changing to a different resin brand, the same color masterbatch and formula have changed color. Why?

Different resin qualities have different density and melt index, so that the performance of the resin is different and the compatibility with the masterbatch is also different, so that the color change occurs. In general, as long as the density and the melt index are not different. If the color is large, the color difference is not too large. You can correct the color by adjusting the amount of the color masterbatch.


Does pigment migration during storage affect the quality of the product?

The pigment content (or dye) of some masterbatches is very high. In this case, it is normal for migration to occur. In particular, the color masterbatch with added dye causes serious migration. However, this has no influence on the quality of the product, since the pigment is in the product at the normal color development concentration after the master batch has been injected into the product.

Different ABS brands that are made in different countries have large color differences. Even with the same ABS brand, each batch can have color differences. Of course, color differences also occur after dyeing with masterbatch. This is due to the properties of ABS and there is no complete solution worldwide. However, this chromatic aberration is generally not serious. Users need to consider this property of ABS when using ABS masterbatch.

The commonly used masterbatch technology is the wet process. Masterbatch granules are produced by water phase milling, phase inversion, washing, drying and granulating water. This is the only way to guarantee product quality. In addition, a number of technical color masterbatch tests should be carried out during the grinding process of pigments, e.g. B. Measuring the fineness of the sanding slurry, measuring the diffusion performance of the sanding slurry, measuring the solids content of the sanding slurry and measuring the fineness of the color paste etc.
